Prologue: Darkness DescendsEdit
On the planet of Baria lived a tribe of powerful force-users. Being an ancient world, Baria housed relics and secrets of some of the first force-users ever to exist. Because of this knowledge, the Barians grew very strong. Among the strongest living Barians were Mizael, Merag, Vesmir, Gazahn, and Peyagrrom.
Mizael was the tribe's decision-maker. He often decided who would be given what role and was a general leader within the Barians. He was a simple man willing to do what was right. He was a white man with a beard and a brown cloak.
Merag was semi-young, but she played an important part as the messenger. She made sure everyone's communications arrived on time and managed many things throughout Baria.
Vesmir was the eldest of them, and he was arrogant enough to think he should be the Barian King. The current king was very old and rarely did much for his people. Because of this, Vesmir took it upon himself to one day take the throne. Gazahn was the weapons-master and tools-maker. He managed all the mechanics and the defenses. Peyagrrom was the warrior, trained in many skills with his blade.
About five years before the creation of The League of Shadows, a large steel shuttle arrived at the center of main town in Baria. The locals gathered around it. Peyagrrom readied his weapons, Mizael watched, intrigued by this visitor. The shuttle door lowered, and out walked a large man. He had metal armor, an intimidating mask, a large black cape, shoulder plates and knee plates hardened with steel, and a black lightsaber hilt. He looked around at the many Barians who stood before him. Some very powerful, some innocent and harmless. "Who are you?" asked Vesmir.
"I come from a world far from yours. I was once Sith. I am now much more. I control, and see everything. And what I've seen here... is far too threatening to my control. You Barians think yourselves secluded.. but what if you were to unleash your power elsewhere? We couldn't have that. You have become too powerful. Now, you must be exterminated." The man replied. Peyagrrom grabbed his blade and Vesmir his staff.
"Wait.. I'm sure peace is possible. We do not mean to hurt anybody-" Merag started, but was interrupted, "Peace! Ha! Even the Sith see the lie that is 'peace'... and to answer your question, warrior... my name is Gravatus. Dark Master Gravatus. And I am here to end your existence." The mystery attacker moved both of his hands toward the crowd, and instantly he picked dozens of them up into the air using telekinesis and threw them back fifty yards. Peyagrrom charged at him with his blade, and before he could swing, Gravatus threw him back twenty yards in a matter of two seconds. "Take cover!!!! We're under attack!!" yelled Mizael. Gravatus used his massive power to bring down the center building they were all standing in, causing mass chaos and destruction. "Fight back!" Gazahn suggested. He used a crossbow to attempt and attack Gravatus, but even his steel arrows did nothing against the Dark Lord's armor. Peyagrrom attacked again, this time using his power to coat his blade in fire. he swung his blade at Gravatus, who simply used his massive manipulation over telekinesis to stop him in his place. He then grabbed his lightsaber hilt and launched the white-colored beam into his chest, instantly delivering a killing blow. "Nooooooo!" Gazahn exclaimed as he charged at the attacker with some blades. Gravatus turned toward him, and held out his hand. Bright blue energy began forming in his hand that soon blasted at Gazahn like a cannon, which instantly disintegrated him.
"No! This is impossible!" Vesmir exclaimed. "How can one man have such power!?" Gravatus slowly walked through the wreckage of the center building and found the Barian King sitting in his throne defenseless.
"We are incapable of defending ourselves from you... please, leave us be." The King offered. Gravatus remained silent, but lifted the King up in the air. Vesmir was the only Barian nearby to help.
"Vesmir! Help him!" Mizael pleaded, but Vesmir stood back and just watched as Gravatus shoved his lightsaber into the king's stomach before taking his supernatural crown and tossing it into the sky, likely to end up in space and never be seen again. The Barians were horrified. Mizael knew what he had to do.
"Merag... come with me!" he grabbed her by her arm and dragged her outside where they hopped onto a large, rid-able Orobird. The Orobird took off into the air, taking them away from the center building.
"Where are we going?" Merag asked
"The only place we have left to go.. the space launch. We must evacuate the planet." Mizael replied.
"No! We can't abandon Baria." "Merag, it's too late... this massive evil has come to eradicate us.. evacuation is our only option now."
Meanwhile, Vesmir dropped his weapon and groveled before Gravatus.
"You... almighty destroyer of worlds. Please! Take me! As your servant! I will serve you willingly and loyally.. I respect power! Please!" Vesmir pleaded. He wanted to become powerful like Gravatus.
"Do not beg, weakling. If you please, you will join my ranks. But know this... my group is not forgiving. You will not have friends. Only allies. And you will be forced into a dominant society. Be warned, there is no turning back." Gravatus responded. "But first.. we must destroy this world." Gravatus charged his blue energy but this time sent it directly into the ground. He used his lightsaber to deliver a current of energy directly into the ground that would eventually touch the core and destroy the entire planet. He left his lightsaber there in an automatic stance as it plummeted power into the planet.
"I will fetch Mizael and Merag. They too can join us! Together.. we will be unstoppable." Vesmir suggested. He mounted a small speeder vehicle and headed toward the Space-launch. Mizael and Merag arrived at the space-launch, a building with several pods that launched themselves into space in the event of an emergency.
"Quick, ready the pod." Mizael said. Merag used the console to set the destination to a peaceful planet known as Tython. It would take the machine a few minutes to activate. Merag turned to Mizael and put her hands on his shoulders.
"Mizael, I want you to know... I love you."
"Merag, I'm not sure about yours... but in my mind, you are my sister. I will always care for you. I will be here for you always. So, I love you too... but not in the way you are suggesting. Our world is dying... we have no time for distractions. Think of me as your brother." Mizael responded.
"My brother just died, Miz... I need something more." She said as her face saddened and tears began to drop on her face.
"Merag, we must be strong. We will endure this. But I need you to focus on reality and don't fantasize about something that's not there... I'll always be here to protect you, to guard you and to help you. That's more important than any kind of romance we could give each other." Mizael's eyes widened as he stared at Merag waiting for an answer. "Okay..." she couldn't look him in the eye. The pod was ready, and they were about to board when Vesmir arrived. "My friends! Do not leave! I have befriended this great warrior.. we can thrive in his environment. Such.. power. Such potential for dominance! This is our chance, Mizael." Vesmir suggested.
"Vesmir, that is not the way... we must endure this and escape. We must flee this planet at once!" Mizael responded. Vesmir scoffed. "You really are cowardly, aren't you? The both of you!" Vesmir insulted.
"You may insult me but do not insult her.. she's stronger than you'll ever be, Vesmir." Mizael's face grew serious. "Ha! Petty insults, Mizael, for a petty warrior. You know what, I don't want you with me anyway.. if you're so weak you just run away from everything, you don't deserve to live! You should die here with this WEAK planet and its WEAK king! YOU SHOULD ROT HERE AND BUR-" Vesmir began yelling,
"Vesmir enough!" Mizael raised his voice. "You dare interrupt me... ME!? The TRUE king of Baria? I am more powerful than you'll ever be. And I'll prove it!" Vesmir said as he grabbed his war staff. The planet began shaking as the core was being penetrated by Gravatus' energy.
"Merag, go! I will join you on another pod after I handle this." Mizael prepared to face his challenge. "No! I won't go without you!" Merag pleaded.
"It's not your choice, Merag. I will always protect you." Mizael pressed the console to close the door to the pod and launch it away before she could get out of it.
"Ah, how heroic Mizael. But all for nothing. You will both die if you won't join the true power... you cannot defeat this warrior." Vesmir said.
"Maybe not... but I can defeat you!" Mizael proclaimed as he grabbed his blade and charged at Vesmir. A duel broke out as the two clashed their blades and the planet shook terribly with death. Vesmir's style was more aggressive while Mizael kept to his strong, defensive but powerful strokes. Eventually he caught Vesmir off guard and swung a low strike at his leg. His limb was lost and the false king fell over, immobilized.
"Nooo! You have not defeated me! You will never escape with your life, Mizael.." Vesmir said as he began using his unique ability to cause objects to explode in a burst of telekinetic destruction. He targeted the launch pods, one by one destroying any hope Mizael had of escaping.
"Vesmir! Stop!" Mizael pointed his blade straight at Vesmir's face.
"You will never stop me.. and you won't kill me. I know you well, Mizael.. you cannot kill." Vesmir smiled. "You're right.. I can't kill you. But you're wrong about another thing.. I can stop you!" Mizael grabbed Vesmir by his robe and threw him aside, disrupting his ability before quickly entering a pod and triggering the emergency launch that would land on any random planet. Vesmir screamed in pain and defeat as Mizael left the planet. Gravatus arrived shortly after, telling Vesmir that if he wanted to join him he'd need to leave with him now. "THEY ESCAPED! THE BOTH OF THEM-AARGH. STOP THEM!" "They are no threat..." Gravatus said in his cold, steel voice. He raised his hand up and summoned some kind of energy to strike Mizael's pod. It didn't appear to do any damage.
"What is that supposed to do?"
"Do not question my methods, weakling. The memory of anyone on-board that pod will now be erased. Your friend will know nothing, he is no threat."
"And what about Merag?"
"The other pod? Already dealt with.. I saw a pod launch and wiped the memory of the life form I felt on board. They will both be useless worms to die out now." Gravatus said before lifting Vesmir up using telekinesis. He touched Vesmir's forehead with his finger, using some kind of magic to see his soul. "Ahhh, you have potential. Much potential." Gravatus said smoothly before Vesmir started to disappear. He panicked as he vanished from his location. He arrived on Gravatus' ship. A few moments later, Gravatus himself with his lightsaber intact arrived and steered the shuttle away from the doomed planet. "How did you do that"? Vesmir asked.
"Teleportation. I simply teleported your body onto the ship. You will need cybernetics for your lost limb... my men can do that." Gravatus said as the shuttle launched away.
Baria began exploding in a bright purple light. Eventually the entire planet burst into particles as the core destructed itself. And thus the Barians' existence was over.
Chapter 1: Awakening Edit
MAN OF NO MEMORY
Mizael lied unconscious as his shuttle hurled through space approaching a desert-like planet. The shuttle began to glow and trail fire as it entered the atmosphere; parts broke off catching fire as well. The shuttle narrowly missed a floating Imperial Cruiser and slammed down into the groundbreaking in two. Mizael was sent flying forward and landed face first in the sand, miraculously suffering only minor injuries. He woke up spitting out sand as the shuttle wreckage fell down an unstable cliff down below into a ravine. Mizael looked around at his surroundings but could only see a blinding blur and several shadows coming toward him.
"Here sir, this is what we saw," a man said.
"Young man, are you okay?" another man asked. The man turned Mizael over and checked his pulse. "He's alive but weak. Get him to a medical center," the man said. Mizael's eyes glowed yellow and sent a pulse of energy from his body sending the people back; the pulse rippled through a giant statue, making it topple upon a tomb and crushing it. The Imperial Troopers raised their guns and pointed at him.
"Shall we take this one out?" one trooper asked.
The man was gaping and smirked, replying, "No. take him to the medical center." The Imperial Troopers carried him to a giant building and placed him in a kolto tank.
A few hours later Mizael woke up and was taken out of the tank and given an initiate's robe. A Sith approached him and said, "Ah glad to see you are alright."
Mizael's eyes just barely opened and managed to speak, "Wh.. where am I??".
"You are at the Korriban Sith Academy," the Sith master said.
"Who am I?" Mizael asked.
The Sith was puzzled. "You don't know who you are?" he asked.
Mizael looked down at himself and his features. "No," he said plainly.
The Sith rubbed his chin in a pondering way and turned back to leave. "Stay here and rest till I come back," he said and exited. Mizael nodded. The Sith made his way up to the second level and entered a chamber where the leaders of the Empire, The Dark Council, sat discussing. "My lords, we found a man who crashed on our planet but what is most interesting is he was able to use a kind of disruption power and toppled our statue of Tulak Hord."
"He sounds dangerous," Darth Marr said.
"He sounds wondrous," an old Sith named Darth Thanaton said.
"What is the boy's name?" Darth Marr asked.
"That's another thing. He doesn't know but he is Force-sensitive," the Sith replied. The other council members looked at each other.
"Sounds like an opportunity my friends," Darth Jadus said. Some of the council members nodded while some just pondered.
"Are you suggesting we try and use this boy as a weapon?" Darth Mortis asked.
"That is precisely what I am suggesting," Darth Jadus declared.
"But we need more examples of his power!" Thanaton replied. The Council turned to the Sith.
"You put him through the trials and have him face some special tests," Darth Jadus replied. the Sith bowed and exited.
"I know what you are thinking, Jadus," Marr said, turning to him in his throne.
"What's that?" Jadus replied, a hint of sarcasm in his voice
"You want to use him as a weapon to destroy your enemies," Marr replied.
"No, I don't. I'm just curious of what he can do," Jadus replied rising from his seat. "Now, if you lords will excuse, me I must tend to my newest recruit on Dromund Kaas," he said as he left. Thanaton just sat there, pondering. "Something on your mind?" Mortis asked.
Thanaton looked up calmly. "No sirs, nothing to be worried about."
The Sith returned to the medical chamber where Mizael was sitting on a bed. He looked up. "Young man, you are to participate in the trials of the Sith," he said. Mizael looked up puzzledly but nodded. The Sith led him into a chamber to begin the trials. Mizael was brought before a Sith Lord. "Hello, new recruit. I am Darth Zarjaz The Infernal," the man said to him.
Mizael nodded. "Pleasure to meet you." Zarjaz gave him a training saber and began to train him in combat, pointing him to some training dummies.
"Now focus.. channel your muscle." Zarjaz told him. Mizael wildly attacked the dummy and missed it completely, stumbling next to it, nearly injuring himself with his blade. Zarjaz frowned. Mizael got up, tried a more patient approach and swung his blade at the dummy, but his technique was flawed. Zarjaz sighed. A few hours went by, and MIzael barely made any progress.
Zarjaz was contacted by Darth Marr while Mizael continued to train, failing at even dealing much of an attack to a dummy. "Zarjaz, he is not very good with melee saber combat. Perhaps... if he were trained in the ways of Force abilities?"
"A good idea as always, Marr. I will send him to Lord Dorman at once" Zar replied. Zarjaz went back to Mizael and told him he was to train with someone else. Mizael was led to an area in the back where a Sith Lord was standing patiently. "This is Lord Dorman, he will train you in the ways of generating force abilities as your fighting style." Zarjaz told him before leaving. Dorman told Mizael to focus his energies and concentrate. Mizael did so and sent out a Force pulse that knocked a dummy down instantly. Through a day of training, Mizael was able to channel lightning barrages and summon Force shoves. He had progressed well.
The next day, Darth Jadus approached Mizael and asked him to do something for him. He was sent to a sealed off part of the academy when out of a blood pool came a ferocious korr-slug. It growled before attacking Mizael, who defended with his Force shoves but the beast just shook them off and sprayed a torrent of water, sending Mizael into a wall. Mizael ducked a slash of the creature's claw and used his training blade to sever it. The creature howled and swung its tail, knocking him far down the tunnel. Mizael got up, clutching his chest and readying for the creature. Up above on a balcony, Darth Marr, Thanaton and Jadus watched as Mizael faced the deadly beast. "This boy is going to die" Marr said. Thanaton just smirked silently.
"I must see his power firsthand and only way is to push him to the brink," Jadus replied sternly.
Mizael dodged another blow but was knocked down by a surprise attack from the worm's tail. He got up again but was knocked back down immediately.
"Come on, boy... show me your power.." Jadus pleaded with suspense.
Thanaton just watched, enjoying the sight of the boy's would-be demise. Marr stood up, about to send the creature away, when the whole room started to shake. Mizael slowly began to glow and got to his feet as pillars toppled near the worm. Thanaton held onto the balcony, surprised as Jadus stood watching in suspense. Mizael reached his arms out and they crackled with unusual yellow energy and shot a beam from his eyes into the worm, sending it back. Mizael used his hands to levitate the creature into the air before shooting it again with a more powerful blast, killing it. Jadus Marr and Thanaton just stared in awe.
"His power is glorious!" Jadus exclaimed.
"That was impressive.. but we've never seen that power before. I haven't seen anything like that sense..." Marr fell silent and exited the room abruptly.
Thanaton just stared speechless. "Yes it was impressive...," he said distantly and then left, following Marr. "What is this boy?" Thanaton asked Marr, who was just thinking silently as he walked. "Where could he be from to possess such power?" Thanaton asked again.
"That remains to be seen," Marr said. Jadus just quivered in excitement.
"He could prove very useful to us, you know," Thanaton mentioned.
"The man is far too powerful to be controlled like a lapdog. We must contain him, not let him run free," Marr suggested.
"He is dangerous, yes... but I have a plan for him," Thanaton replied.
Marr hesitated, but decided to give in. "Very well."
Mizael was called to the Council.
"We understand you have a uniqueness to you, young Sith," Marr began.
"Do you know where you are from?" Mortis asked.
Mizael just stood and replied "No sirs, I seem to have a memory withdrawal."
"Which is why I want to take you as my apprentice," Thanaton replied, standing up.
Jadus started to stand to protest, but Marr glared at him, convincing him to sit, shaking his head. Thanaton took Mizael by the shoulder and walked away with him. "I will train you in the ways of the Force and I'll help you to gain your memories back," he said as they left.
Darth Mortis just sat there and his eyes flickered red to black briefly. Thanaton took Mizael to the Imperial capital of Drumond Kaas and trained him, sending him on various missions and even giving him a ship. Darth Mortis approached Thanaton one day.
"What is your angle here, Thanaton?" He asked sternly.
"My angle? I simply wish to teach this one of the ways of the Sith," Thanaton lied.
"You can't fool me. You are going to use him to destroy the Dark Council!" He said, glaring.
Thanaton was taken aback. "Why would I want to destroy those arrogant fools-" Thanaton caught himself at the last words.
Mortis just smirked and his eyes became black. "Your assistance is no longer required, Thanaton," a sinister voice said as Thanaton was lifted in a Force choke hold.
"What are you doing?" Thanaton asked, gasping for breath.
"Ending your pathetic existence," the voice said as Mortis proceeded to kill him, but Thanaton broke the hold and shot Mortis full of lightning. Mortis just shrugged it off and sent a Force shockwave at him, sending Thanaton into a wall, but he got back up and shot more lightning at Mortis, trying to break him. Mortis blocked with his lightsaber and swung it. Thanaton blocked with his saber quickly and parried another blow. "Call the Council! Mortis has gone insane!" he shouted to his officers. Mortis just held his hand out while keeping Thanaton at bay with his saber and disintegrated them instantly.
Thanaton gasped in terror. "How did you do that?" He asked, pushing against the saber.
Mortis turned to him not, letting up, and then with a flourish he knocked the saber away and impaled Thanaton with his. "I am the Beginning... of the End," he replied sinisterly and then slashed, decapitating him and then disintegrating him into dust.
ON THE RUN/THE NEW MASTER
Mizael was on Korriban, when he received a call on his holoterminal. "This is Darth Mortis of the Dark Council," the hologram announced.
"Yes sir, what may I do for you?" Mizael replied bowing.
"You have been found as an accomplice of a terror plot against the Dark Council. Therefore you are to be executed," Mortis replied.
"Wait what?" Mizael gasped.
Several Sith troopers readied their blasters and opened fire on Mizael; he quickly dodged the shots and ran back into his starship, piloting it away from the landing pad. He looked out the cockpit at an Imperial Cruiser in front of him. It was aiming its turbo lasers at him.
"Good day sir," Mortis said on Mizael's holoterminal.
Mizael took control of the ship and began to turn away as the cruiser opened fire, spraying beams of green energy at the ship. Mizael ducked and swerved his way trying to avoid them all, angling his ship to get below the cruiser and activate the hyperdrive to escape. Mortis growled and left the bridge. Mizael ended up at Dromond Kaas and flew into the outskirts, landing in a lake. He got out and looked around. He was soon attacked by a Gundark, which he shot with his eye beam power.
"How did you do that?" a voice asked. Mizael turned around and saw nothing. He drew his lightsaber and looked around.
"Who is there?"
The voice chuckled and sounded like it was everywhere. "I'm right in front of you!" the voice said.
Mizael turned around as a man with green hair and scars appeared in front of him. Mizael jumped back, startled, swinging his saber instinctively. The man simply dodged and laughed hysterically.
"Want'to know how I got these scars?" the man asked Mizael, pointing to his face.
"Nope," Mizael said plainly and used the hilt of his saber to smack him across face hard.
"Whoooahh," the man mumbled, staggering back. "You got a little fight in ya, don't ya?" he said, regaining himself.
"Now, who are you?" Mizael asked again pointing his saber at him.
"Now now shhhh shhh shh," the guy replied. "I'm a man of simple tastes... like knives..." he said drawing a knife quickly and slashing Mizael's leg. Mizael gasped in pain staggering back. "And gunpowder," he said grabbing a handful of it and throwing it at him. Mizael leaped out of the way and growled at him. "Aww, why so serious?" the guy asked.
"You are crazy," Mizael retorted.
"Noo... I'm not... not crazy, I'm just ahead of the curve," the green haired man laughed.
"Yep, you're definitely crazy," Mizael said.
The guy stepped forward. "Alright, I've had my fun. I've come here for you."
"Why?" Mizael asked, still on guard.
"I was sent here by someone to... obtain you," he replied.
"And who might that be?" Mizael asked.
"The real master of the Sith," the man replied.
"And who is that?" Mizael inquired.
The guy smirked and laughed, "You'll see."
The green haired man led Mizael secretly through the forest, avoiding Imperial scout parties, "So what's your name?" Mizael asked again.
The man just turned to him and said plainly and grandly, "I'm an Agent of CHAOS!!!!!" and then quickly incapacitated a team with knives one by one, killing them. "Know why I use knives?" he asked as he held a trooper with a knife in his mouth.
"Why?" Mizael asked sarcastically.
"Guns are too quick. "You can't savor those litttlleeee… emotionsss," he said and cut the trooper's throat, killing him. "Come on," the Agent said, motioning.
Mizael followed him to a secret airfield behind the city and they boarded a stealth ship that soon lifted into space. The Agent steered his ship past the Imperial Fleet and to the far side of Dromund Kaas where there was nothing.
"Anddd heree weee.. go!" the man said, pushing a button as a cruiser appeared in front of them. A tractor beam brought the ship into the cruiser as it went back into stealth. Mizael stepped out and looked around as the Agent led him to the bridge.
"Master, I found him," the Agent said.
"Excellent," a deep robotic voice replied.
Mizael looked up and saw a throne on a balcony holding a hooded figure hidden in the shadows. A man with a lot of cybernetics stood nearby; he looked like a complete robot. The man stood up from his throne and stepped into the light. He was covered in black with an intimidating mask and a red glowing gem in his chest guard.
"You are the master?" Mizael asked, looking up in awe.
"I am," the man replied.
"What's so special about this guy?" the robotic man asked suddenly.
"This 'guy' is a Sith Apprentice with special powers.. one who was curiously being chased by the Imperial forces," the hooded man replied.
"Everyone wants me for my power..." Mizael said angrily, "and I've been framed for something I didn't do.. something I didn't even know about!"
"Others will always desire power, that is the Sith way," the hooded man said calmly.
"Who are you?" Mizael asked, stepping forward a little.
The man held out his hand and stopped Mizael in his tracks. "I am Dark Lord Goldvanius," he said as he stepped forward. "This here is Nasch, my loyal and deadly bodyguard." Goldvanius motioned to the robot man.
"What do you want with me?" Mizael asked.
"I want to see your power firsthand," Goldvanius replied, motioning for Nasch to go down. "Use your skills to try and defeat Nasch." Goldvanius sat back comfortably in his throne. Nasch jumped down and drew his twin blasters.
"Let's dance, pretty boy," he said and began shooting green blaster bolts at Mizael, who quickly managed to draw his lightsaber and block the blasts, but was sent back by a missile that impacted near him. Mizael got back up and shot a barrage of lightning at Nasch who dodged and rolled, firing his guns. Mizael dodged as well and sent more lightning at him. Nasch dodged and rocketed forward delivering a swift uppercut to him and sending him flying back. Mizael was thrown into the wall, but got up quickly and used the Force to lift a crate and hurl it at Nasch, who blasted it apart. Mizael took this opportunity to lunge and slash his lightsaber at him. Nasch barely ducked out of the way and sent a wave of flames from his gauntlet; Mizael narrowly dodged.
Nasch shot more missiles and swung more uppercuts. Mizael barely dodged the missiles as he was sent back by the punches. Goldvanius just sat there, watching intently. Mizael got pushed against a wall and held up a crate as a shield as Nasch blasted away at it with his weapons. Mizael growled; his eyes glowed and shot yellow energy from it, impacting Nasch and sending him back. Goldvanius stood up in amazement. Mizael then did something new: he used the energy coming from his eyes to grab Nasch and throw him into the wall and on the floor. However, Nasch wasn't done. He stood up and two small cannons extended themselves out of Nasch's cybernetic arms. The slots both launched rail shots at Mizael, who dodged the first but was ultimately defeated by the second when it impaled his leg, immobilizing him. Nasch then launched a net out of another cannon, imprisoning Mizael. Goldvanius raised his hand, declaring the battle over. He used the Force to pull Nasch back up to him. Nasch clutched his chest, breathing heavily before turning some dials and buttons on his gauntlet to regulate his breathing back to normal. Goldvanius clapped slowly and walked down.
"Impressive... You were beaten, of course, but impressive," he said to the young Sith.
Mizael breathed heavily and collapsed to his knees.
"You have much potential in you." Goldvanius continued as he looked down at the kneeling Sith. "Alright.. I will teach you the ways of the dark side. The true dark side, that is. You will be my sixth apprentice."
Mizael looked up and replied happily, "Thank you good-"
He was cut off by Goldvanius shooting him with a small burst of red lightning. "True Sith do not tremble in happiness," he growled.
Mizael howled in pain as the red lightning coursed through his skin. "I'm sorry..." he said collapsing on his hands.
Goldvanius shot him again. "Sorry is also irrelevant! Stand up!"
Mizael coughed and angrily clutched his chest in pain.
"Good. Let's get started," Goldvanius declared.
Chapter 2: The Master and ApprenticeEdit
Goldvanius circled Mizael in a practicing room as they began the tenth day of training. Suddenly, he sent an energy blast at Mizael. He jolted back from the shock and as his eyes flashed with dizziness something flashed before his eyes. He heard a voice calling out "Mizael! Mizael don't do this!"
The vision ended and Mizael snapped back to reality. Goldvanius looked down upon the limping apprentice.
"You're pathetic!" The Dark Lord said as he kicked him in the gut. Mizael groaned in pain.
"Master..." he muttered.
"One blast and you're out? Have you no knowledge of defensive force techniques!?" Goldvanius picked him up by his vest collar and shoved him back. "Did the Sith Academy teach you nothing!?"
"Wait.. please Mas--" Mizael was interrupted
"Do not show weakness!" Goldvanius threw him down to the ground. "You are weeeak. You must learn to defend yourself, otherwise you'll be dead by a group of bandits!"
"I had a vision!" Mizael managed to speak.
"A vision of what? The floor!?"
"No, I had a vision of my past..." Mizael said as Goldvanius slowly halted in his tracks, intrigued by this. "I think..." he coughed. "I think my name is Mizael."
More to come...
MISSION AND BEGINNINGS
Mizael stood before Goldvanius in a black robe with a flowing cape and a color scheme of gold. "Well done, my apprentice... you have learned well." He said looking down at the new Sith. "I, as your master grant you the title of Darth." Mizael looked up with a stern face, nodding. "Henceforth, you shall be known to your enemies and those who fear you as... Darth Mizael." He said grandly.
"I am most grateful, Master," Mizael replied as he bowed.
"Get up!" Goldvanius said, motioning him to stand -- which he did-- "As you are now a Darth, you should have a proper lightsaber."
"Let's get started." Mizael nodded, ready to receive his weapon. Goldvanius presented him with the materials needed. Mizael began constructing his hilt. He took a dagger and inserted it into the bottom of the hilt he laced the machine with black leather binds and a purple band below the emitter. Mizael then presented his new hilt to his master, who inspected it and soon nodded.
"Unusual choice... smart though. If your crystal is compromised, you'll still have a blade" Goldvanius said. Mizael nodded and took back the hilt. Goldvanius began seeing a vision... he saw Mizael accidentally poking his own crotch with his blade-like lightsaber hilt on accident.
"I should just kill him now..." Goldvanius thought to himself. "No... that actually might be enjoyable. I feast on pain." Goldvanius remembered, continuing to instruct Mizael. "Now you are to go to Ilum and claim a crystal." Goldvanius continued, sending Mizael on his way.
Mizael flew his ship away from the cloaked cruiser and entered hyperspace. The ship exited in orbit of Ilum and he flew down to the outskirts of the common settlements, searching for a crystal formation. Dropping off in the middle of what seemed like cold nothingness, he decided to call upon the Force. Using his senses, he located a cave of crystals not too far from a Republic base. It was filled with many glowing crystals. It was now up to Mizael to choose - he picked a purple hawkeye crystal, corrupting it with his Sith energy and morphing it into a black-purple crystal. He then proceeded to enter it into the lightsaber hilt he'd brought with him, igniting it.
Satisfied, Mizael went to exit, but stopped when he noticed a small stash of scrolls. They were all identical maps, leading toward some kind of hidden temple. Mizael realized these were meant for Jedi Padawans. He followed the map across Ilum until he reached the temple. He looked around, feeling a supernatural presence as he entered this sacred cave. He knew that many force-users had to acquire crystals and complete their journeys, but he never imagined he'd be in a place like this. It seemed unsteady, like it could collapse at any moment. He also had no idea what traveling through this cave would do for him, but it seemed to be what he was expected to do. He walked down a long tunnel until he reached a door. Mizael sat down and focused his energies, pushing the doors open and revealing a room with a crystal on a pedistal.
He walked up to it and touched the crystal as it glowed and surged some kind of magic into him. Images flashed before his eyes: A golden planet, a dark figure wearing intimidating armor, his existence representing destruction itself, --seemingly-- an eruption of energy, a girl crying, a shuttle escaping up into space, a confrontation, and finally a massive explosion. Mizael stepped back, trembling. "I know who I am now..." he said to himself.
Mizael then saw a message on the wall nearby in Sith writing. "Unity is ultimate power - lone power can be strong, but only united shall warlords rise." - Suddenly the cave shook and crumbled as Mizael ran to escape. However, a revenent figure blocked his path
"So... you have figured it out." The figure said in a voice that seemed aged with time. Mizael stopped as the cavern shook and readied himself "What do you mean, Darth Mortis?" Mizael replied, recognizing the voice.
"You descend from Baria, Darth Mizael. Your kind was to be eradicated." The cold voice said, "Now... you will perish, young fool." Darth Mortis smirked, drawing his lightsaber.Mizael growled and ignited his new black-purple blade. Mortis smirked again. Mortis ignited his blood-red blade and swung at him, but Mizael parried and swung at his attacker. However, his blow was blocked and Mortis Force-pushed him back. Mizael rolled down and regained his strength, blocking a crushing blow by Mortis who leapt to him. Mizael swept his feet from under him but was sent back by another blow. Mortis lunged and slashed wildly as Mizael blocked each blow, their duel moving on around the collapsing cavern. Mizael used the Force to pick falling rocks up and hurl them at Darth Mortis, who either threw them away or struck them down with his saber. Failing at this technique and with Mortis inching closer to him, Mizael slammed a rock into his opponent from behind. Taking advantage of this moment, he impaled Mortis in the chest with his lightsaber and threw him down in victory.
"You framed me for something I didn't even do!!" he roared and shot a barrage of lightning at Mortis, who pushed Mizael to the edge of a falling piece of ice where below lied an abyss. Mortis smirked and readied his hand to push him off, when Mizael used the force to make his lightsaber hover in the air and slice his hand off. Mortis screamed in pain as Mizael grabbed him, kneeing him in the face and throwing him off the edge into the abyss. Mizael then sped to the entrance just as it collapsed completely, sinking into the ground. Mizael, weary and injured, made his way to his ship and left back to Dromund Kaas.
Mizael returned to Dromund Kaas, arriving at Goldvanius' hidden lair. He presented his saber to his master.
"A unique choice of color." Goldvanius said blankly.
"That's not all, master." Mizael said "Darth Mortis followed me and tried to stop me.. but I defeated him, and found out who I am in the process." Mizael said happily. Goldvanius' stance didn't change as he heard this. "I was once a member of a special species known as the Barians." he replied.
"Barians?" Goldvanius asked. "I've never heard of that species." He said puzzledly. Goldvanius went to his records to look it up, but no traces of anything were found.
"I've also been given more power... the ability to choose who can wield Barian powers, apparently." Mizael added. He then turned to Nasch. "Nasch, my good ally, I choose you to become a Barian." Nasch was taken back.
"You want me to become part of your species? What.." He asked.
"Yep." Mizael nodded and held out his hand as it glowed with energy. Nasch thought about it for a minute, but he nodded, bracing himself. Goldvanius watched motionlessly as Mizael embedded Nasch with orange energy. "I, Mizael, reincarnate you as a Barian!" Mizael declared as his eyes glowed orange. Nasch stuttered and absorbed the energy, gaining new memories of a past life.
"I have the memories of someone named Peyagrrom" Nasch replied, shaking as his hands caught on fire. "What the hell?" he exclaimed, shaking his hands as the fire locked onto him. The fire in his hands lifted into the air in a circular motion. "I.. I can control fire?" Nasch asked in awe as he created more fire and made two whips of it.
"Pyromancy... intriguing." Goldvanius responded. Nasch extinguished the fire by closing his hands and turned to Mizael.
"I will serve you, Mizael, just as I serve The Master." He said as he bowed. Mizael stood proudly with Nasch as Goldvanius stood in front of them.
"Master, I propose an idea." Mizael suggested.
"Hmm?" Goldvanius asked.
"We should form an organization of our allies.. I read that Sith are known for having strength through unity." Mizael said. "We can gather our fellow Sith and create a league of unstoppable warriors."
Goldvanius pondered this for a moment... "We'll see."
Chapter 3: The Legacy BeginsEdit
Mizael was asleep in his room on-board the Cruiser when he saw a vision of a woman with black hair and a long cloak. She was wielding a blue lightsaber and smiling; she also appeared Force-sensitive, using her powers to help others. Mizael woke up with a start and went to Goldvanius's meditation chamber.
"Sorry to wake you, master," Mizael said bowing, "but something happened."
Agent, who was also there, replied, "What happened... did your balls drop off??" He snickered.
Mizael rolled his eyes and continued. "I had a vision of a girl."
Goldvanius turned around, not wearing his mask, and looked sternly at him. He paused for a moment and replied, "I do not believe that you are ready to engage in a romantic relationship."
"A Jedi girl," Mizael continued.
"Hmmm," Goldvanius replied, scratching his chin. "What do you want to do about this?" Goldvanius finally asked.
"With your permission, I would like to find her. I can't explain it, but she seems important," Mizael replied.
Goldvanius yawned as it was the middle of the night. "Alright, go on, find her and bring her to me." He turned back around and shooed Mizael away with his hand. Mizael bowed and went away.
The next morning, Mizael went to Nasch, who was exercising outside of his robot suit. "Don't you need that to live?" Mizael asked, watching.
Nasch smirked and replied, "Only when I'm outside of my room." He turned and Mizael saw he was behind a glass wall. He had no leg and half of his face was badly injured.
"How did that happen?" he asked.
Nasch began putting on his robotic leg. "It was an ambush, on a mission with the master and I saved his life... but paid the price," Nasch said solemnly, putting the rest of his armor on. "Literally. My mother's favorite pearl…"
"What happened to it?" Mizael asked.
"I lost the pearl as I lost me leg," Nasch replied, hoisting his cybernetic limb against the glass. "So what did ya come to me for?" He asked, putting on his cybernetic helmet and turning valves to regulate his breathing.
"I have a mission for us," Mizael replied as Nasch stepped out of the glass wall and exited his room with him.
"What kind of mission?" Nasch asked.
"Raiding a Republic ship," Mizael replied.
Nasch looked at him with his robotic eyes. "I'm in," he in an excited voice.
Mizael grinned and led him to his ship. "First we need to find out where the ship is."
They boarded the ship before proceeding to the navicomputer and activating the panel. He searched and finally found it. "There. A Jedi consular ship in orbit around Tatooine," Nasch said. Mizael punched in the coordinates and they went to hyperspace.
The ship reached the sand planet of Tatooine and there they saw the consular ship. Mizael sent out a message to it but received no response.
"Hmmm, could be deserted," Nasch said.
"Or a trap?" Mizael also suggested.
"Sounds fun," Nasch snickered.
Mizael docked their ship at the derelict and activated the ramp. They walked onto the ship, looking around.
"Hello? Anyone here?" Mizael called out.
Suddenly, the lights went out and a figure jumped on Mizael, tackling him. Mizael gasped and struggled with the figure on the ground as he felt its arms around his neck. Mizael gasped for breath and coughed, summoning his power and forcing the attacker off. Nasch was impaled in the arm by a knife as he looked around, and out of stealth came a Zabrak man with goggles and a jacket.
"Hello mate, we got Imperials," The man said, swinging his blade again.
He was a smuggler. Mizael got up and ignited his lightsaber, illuminating the room to see his attacker was the Jedi lady.
"Imperials are not welcome here. Leave now or I will have to get rough," the lady said sternly.
Mizael chuckled, "Oh, what's a little girl like you gonna do to Lord Mizael?" The girl sprung out and kicked him hard in his balls, causing him to stumble back. "Owwww," Mizael said groaning,
The woman smirked. "Aw did i hurt you?" she sneered.
"Bitch!" Mizael shouted.
He sent a barrage of lightning at her, which she deflected with her double-bladed blue saber. Nasch aimed his guns and shouted, "No One takes Nasch by surprise!" He shot at the horned man as he ducked and dodged, punching at him. Nasch growled and swung his robot leg, hitting the horned man straight in the chest. He groaned and stumbled back as Nasch fired again. Mizael and the girl traded blows with their sabers and Force pushed each other back.
"Get off my ship, little Sith!" the girl cried out, kicking him away and slashing.
Mizael fell back but blocked her blow with his saber. "Listen lady, I came here cause I need to know something," Mizael replied, flipping to his feet and uppercutting at her.
She caught his fist and twisted it behind him as she stabbed her saber at him. He swiftly blocked the attack with his blade.
"Name is Merag," she snapped.
Merag swung her blade against his and Force pushed both sabers away. Mizael growled and swung his hands at her; she caught them and crushed his fingers in hers, pushing against them. Nasch traded blows with the smuggler using his robotic hand, causing the horned man to stagger and groan.
"Damn mate, take it easy on ol' Durbe," he said groaning.
Mizael and Merag hand grappled as the latter pulled the Sith closer and kneed him in the balls a few times. She then pushed the disoriented Barian away, screeching. She subsequently jumped on him and called her saber with the Force as he called his.
Durbe got back up and continued to trade blows with Nasch, who was getting overwhelmed as his suit was losing energy. Mizael staggered, groaning as Merag had him in a headlock with one hand while her other held her saber against his. He bucked her against the wall until she slipped off, swinging her saber on his and knocking it from him. She kicked his knee in, making him fall forward. Mizael faceplanted as Merag got on his back and held her saber to his throat.
"Aww, look who got beat by a 'little girl'," she chuckled as her free hand held his arm down.
Nasch grabbed Merag's back and threw her off Mizael exclaiming, "Not yet lady." Mizael flipped to his feet as Durbe got back up and fired at him.
Merag struggled against Nasch, elbowing him hard in the chest with her lightsaber hilt before she slipped from his grasp, grabbing his head and flipping him over onto the ground. Nasch was dazed but got up, dodging a swing from her saber. Mizael sliced Durbe's gun apart and knocked him against the wall, Force choking until he fell unconscious and turned back to Merag as she was about to impale Nasch. Mizael used the Force to grab her and throw her against the wall; she struggled and screeched as she tried to get free. Mizael's eyes suddenly glowed yellow.
"Don't make me end you, Merag," Mizael said growling.
Nasch got up, watching and pointing his guns at her. Merag thrashed and her eyes began to glow blue as Mizael felt something tug at his mind, realizing it was her sending mind blasts into him. Nasch also fell from the strain of her psychic blasts. Merag smirked and walked toward them, still glowing and shooting psychic blasts. Mizael clutched his head and used the Force to hurl everything backwards, interrupting her ability. All four got up and stared at one another. Merag sat there, head shaking
"Fine, do away with us. I don't care," Merag said sadly.
Durbe went to help her up. "Mates, please don't kill her. Just take me; I'm only her bodyguard."
"My friends, none of you are going to die," Mizael replied plainly. "You both have tremendous skill; we want you to join us."
Merag and Durbe just looked at each other.
"Really? Why?" Merag asked.
Mizael stepped forward. "I came here because I had a vision of you for some reason. I came to find out why," he explained, staring right at her. Merag was shocked.
"Me? awhy me?" she asked.
"That's what I will find out, but only if you will accept my offer," Mizael replied.
"What offer is that?" Durbe asked.
Nasch and Mizael glanced at each other.
"We are a special group of people known as Barians," Mizael replied.
Merag and Durbe looked at each other as Nasch stood, eyes glowing orange. Merag and Durbe were confused, but Mizael gave an explanation—to which they nodded. Mizael stretched his hand at Durbe and declared, "I reincarnate you as a Barian."
Durbe was taken back by green energy and stumbled, absorbing it.
"Whoahhh," the Zabrak groaned.
His head shook as his eyes glowed green. Durbe felt something and created an energy shield around them. "You never said we'd get superpowers," Durbe laughed.
Mizael walked up to Merag as the two locked eyes; he held out his hand, which she took.
"I reincarnate you as a Barian," He said and energy flowed from him to her.
He then stopped when she glowed blue already the two energies collided and exploded; Merag got a flash of images similar to what Mizael saw at the cave.
"I remember...." She replied still holding his hand. Her eyes were blue and looked at him. "Miz..." she said softly.
Mizael was at first confused but replied, "What is it?" Merag let go of him and looked away.
"I'm already a Barian," she said plainly.
Nasch and Durbe stopped playing with their abilities and turned to them as she said that.
Mizael gasped. "How can this be?"
Merag just looked at him. "I don't know," she replied.
"We don't have all the pieces yet; only that we are all Barians now," Mizael said to all of them.
They nodded and the two ships flew back to Goldvanius's cruiser as he stood waiting along with two others—Dentface and Darth Evasic. The four Barians walked down the ramp together.
Mizael and Nasch bowed and motioned to Merag and Durbe. "These are our new recruits."
Goldvanius nodded in approval.
"We take up the title of the Barian Legacy as we seem to be the last of them," Mizael declared proudly.
"Interesting" Goldvanius replied simply.
Elsewhere, in a fortress surrounded by ice and snow, a dark figure woke from his sleep and his face spread into a evil grin.
"It's time!" he said cackling menacingly.
Chapter 4: An Old Friend now EnemyEdit
About a month after Merag had proven herself to the League of Shadows, Mizael was contacted by Goldvanius. "I am sensing something sinister out there" He replied to Mizael
"What do you think it is?" Mizael asked.
"I don't know but I want you to find out what it is, also I sense that your Barian friends should go with you" Goldvanius replied.
Mizael nodded and left the throne room. He arrived at the lounge where Durbe was tinkering with Nasch's suit, and Merag was meditating on the chair. "So guys we have a mission together" Mizael said proudly.
"We do?" Durbe asked finishing on Nasch's suit. "There ya go mate now you can shoot flames more efficiently," He told Nasch. Nasch pointed his gauntlets at the training dummy and fired a large blast of fire from it and burned the dummy completely. "Nice" he said and stood up. "So we finally get a mission together, seems we only get separate missions" Nasch replied.
"Yea, we must investigate something on Corellia, Goldvanius has given me the coordinates," Mizael said. Merag stopped meditating and walked over to the rest of them "Corellia?" she asked.
"It is a city planet in the coreworlds" Mizael replied to her. "I have been there before" Durbe said, "had some tough fights there".
"What will we find when we go there?" Merag asked. "That is what we are to find out" Mizael said "So what do you guys think." Mizael asked his friends. They all nodded "Could be fun" Nasch said charging his gauntlets. "Aye I'm in mate" Durbe said twirling his gun. Merag also nodded putting her saber on her belt. "I'm with you guys too". Mizael laughed and grinned "Alright lets go guys".
Goldvanius saw them off at the Dreadnought's hangar. "We will discover the source of the evil" Mizael said as he bowed to his master and the rest followed his example.
The Barians boarded Mizael's Fury interceptor and headed off, Once in hyperspace, Nasch powered down in sleep mode, Durbe lied in his bunk. Merag couldn't sleep and got out of bed and wandered into the cockpit where Mizael was half asleep.
She walked up to him and said "hey Miz". He woke up startled and when he saw it was her he smiled and greeted her
"Oh hey Merag" Merag smiled back and sat down in the chair next to him. Merag and Mizael just sat their unsure what to say. Merag finally broke the silence
"I'm getting a bad feeling about this mission," She said looking forward into the white vortex of hyperspace.
She brushed some of her hair back revealing a scar on her head "How did you get that" Mizael asked touching it gently.
"It was when I met Durbe actually," She began.
"I was on a mission to Ord Mentell to stop a crime syndicate, when I noticed a smuggler being held captive, I went down to free him when they spotted me, we both fought them off but a surprise blow struck me in the face, in return I used the force to strangle him to death and escaped with Durbe,"
"Was that the first time you killed?" Mizael asked. Merag nodded and looked at him with her big dark blue eyes.
"Well that is big, killing for the first time" he replied placing a hand on her shoulder. "You should embrace the dark side more".
Merag just looked at him "I already do as i was able to kill all those I knew" she said her voice choking some.
Mizael pulled her toward him keeping a arm on her shoulder. "What did happen anyway?" He asked.
Merag just looked forward as if in a trance. "I really don't know, I remember glowing blue and sending a shockwave out, but after that is a blur all I remember was walking away from the fiery ruins and coming back here.
"My only thought was....," Merag started but stopped herself. Mizael noticed and looked at her softly "what was your thought?"
Merag tried to scoot away from him and he let her. "Well... my thought was to.... Be with you.." She said fast and suddenly. Mizael just looked at her questioningly "What was that?"
Merag said it again but still a little too fast to understand. "I can't understand" Mizael laughed some. Merag just growled some and said plainly and bluntly "To be With You! dumbass" Merag then cupped her hands over her mouth as she said it "Ohh ummm" she said blushing like crazy.
Mizael just laughed and looked at her punching her shoulder lightly. "Really?" Merag nodded and punched his shoulder back a little harder enough to make him wince. "Aiee" Mizael said as he rubbed it and she grinned laughing some too.
They just looked into eachother's eyes as Merag knew he was the one she wanted to be with, but was unsure if he felt the same way about her. Mizael took her hand gently and leaned in as she did too and their lips met pushing against eachother lightly.
Merag wrapped her arms around his neck and kept kissing him which he returned as she felt so happy. Mizael continued to kiss her feeling equally happy "Nasch is gonna kill me" Mizael muttered laughing to himself. The two continued their lip lock for 10 more seconds and finally pulled away from each other. Mizael then got up and held Merag's hand and led her to his room closing the door as she smirked and giggled.
The next morning the Fury landed on Corellia as the four Barians stepped out seeing the damaged city.
"This is an interesting place" Durbe said first swinging his gun.
Mizael strode forward and looked around finally spying a tall skyscraper in the distance with three smoke stacks on the side.
"There that be our target" He said. The others looked ahead at where he was referring to.
"So what will we find there?" Nasch asked. "We Will Find Out" Mizael replied.
The four comrades finally reached the top of the skyscraper, they all froze in fear when they heard an evil laugh ring out.
"So you have cum hahahahahaha" The voice said. The four looked around when a black red mist with lightning appeared in front of them and sent a shockwave out knocking them down. The laugh continued ad they got up and the mist disappated and a figure was standing, He had a hood with a tattered cloak, red claw like finger gauntlets and evil red eyes.
"Nasch, Durby, Merag and heh Mizael," The figure said evilly.
"Do we know you?" Mizael asked staring the creepy man down.
"How can you forget an old friend" The man spoke again sounding more nicer.
"Who are you," Merag said placing her hand upon her lightsaber.
"I am Lord Vesmir true king of Baria!" Vesmir said rather proudly.
Mizael and Merag both gasped and widened their eyes at the mention of Baria.
"Baria?" Nasch asked, Vesmir just laughed and looked at each of them. "You don't remember do you?"
By the looks on their faces Vesmir knew it was true. "Hahahahahahaha, here I thought you guys were a threat, turns out you are not" Vesmir continued and then sent a shockwave from his hands that knocked them back.
The Four were ready and Mizael redirected the blast at Vesmir who gasped and dodged in time. "Well Then" Vesmir said.
Nasch shot a blast of fire from his gauntlets at Vesmir, Who dodged again and pulled out his double-bladed lightsaber. Merag shot forward drawing her lightsaber and struck it against Vesmir's who traded blows with her while flipping in the air dodging a barrage of bullets from Durbe's pistol. Vesmir did a backflip into Durbe sending him flying backwards into Nasch, regaining himself he blocked a blow from Merag and pushed her off while deflecting a lightning bolt from Mizael. Vesmir laughed and shot a dark blast at Mizael knocking him backwards, Merag got back up and did a sweeping slash at Vesmir who smirked and blocked pinning her saber to the ground and using his free hand grabbed her throat. Nasch shot out five missiles from his gauntlet, Vesmir holding Merag's neck with one hand spun his saber deflecting the missiles into Mizael and Durbe. Durbe dodged and did a barrel roll into Vesmir knocking him back releasing Merag. Mizael used the force to deflect the missiles back to Vesmir, Vesmir growled and sent a shockwave that knocked Merag and Durbe back, he spun in the air and used his lightsaber to slice apart the missiles with their parts fly into the ground in front of Merag and Durbe causing an explosion that knocked them back.
Vesmir landed back on the roof in a pose with fire burning around him and he just smirked. Mizael helped Merag back up as Nasch and Durbe were back on their feet.
"Is this all you got?" Vesmir said cooly.
Mizael glared and sent out a barrage of lightning, Merag responded by sending a force blast that interlocked with Mizael's lightning into a massive electrical force beam that exploded where Vesmir stood. Smoke was all over from the attack.
"We got him," Mizael said breathing a sigh of relief.
Suddenly a laugh rang out and Vesmir appeared behind them and impaled Nasch's suit, severing some life support tubes and weapons. Nasch gasped and fell to his knees as Vesmir raised his saber ready to behead him. Durbe reacted the quickest and threw a flash grenade at Vesmir's face sending him back screaming. Nasch fell to the ground unconscious as his suit was failing. Mizael shot a force push at Vesmir as he was reeling from the grenade sending him back more. Durbe threw some grenades at Vesmir's feet knocking him down again. Mizael and Durbe went after Vesmir while Merag tended to her brother. Vesmir growled and regained himself in time to dodge another grenade which he sent flying backwards exploding behind him. Mizael shot some lightning blasts at him which he just dodged or deflected with his saber. Vesmir then flipped in the air shooting out some dark energy bolts that Mizael deflected with his lightsaber but was sent back from a force push. Mizael regained himself as Vesmir attacked. Durbe intercepted with another flash grenade, but Vesmir was ready and caught it and threw it into Mizael who clutched his face. Durbe just gaped as Vesmir threw his lightsaber in a spinning strike.Durbe threw a smoke grenade down to provide cover and escaped the blow as Mizael got back up and shot at Vesmir, Vesmir's saber returned and he blocked the attack and sent one of his own.
"Time for ol' Durbe to be a hero," Durbe said sneaking up on Vesmir as he traded energy blows with Mizael
Vesmir let his guard down and managed to get knocked backwards towards Durbe who drew his dagger. Vesmir felt the dagger coming out and spun himself slicing the dagger with his clawed gauntlet and did a kick to Durbe's head knocking him down. Vesmir landed next to him on his feet and stabbed his blade into Durbe's arm, He screamed in pain as Vesmir smirked and laughed. Mizael flew forward and did a circular energy blast at Vesmir who got thrown backward. Mizael kneeled down to check on his injured friend.
"Don't mind me Just get him," Durbe said before slumping to unconsciousness.
Mizael got up and stared down Vesmir as he just laughed but then got thrown back by a force push by Merag who joined Mizael's side.
"How is Nasch?" Mizael asked as Vesmir got back up growling. Merag readied her lightsaber at him and said quickly. "I managed to redirect the suit to stabilize him but not for long"
Vesmir just stared the two love Barians down. "Mizael and Merag together again heh, just like That day so long ago, I'm curious do you still feel the same way Miz?" Vesmir said and then laughed.
Mizael just looked at him and shot a blast of lightning. Vesmir held up his hand and absorbed the blast chuckling. He spun it around his hands and then disintegrated the energy into little balls of it and sent them flying back at the two. Mizael and merag barely had any time to react and just dropped to the floor as the energy balls exploded around and near them. They got up as Vesmir teleported between them kicking Mizael in the face and slashing his claws across Merag's chest which she winced in pain. Merag regained and swung her saber out but Vesmir had already teleported away. Mizael dodged Merag's strike since he had been knocked back.
"Back to Back" Mizael said as he put his back to Merag and readied himself.
Vesmir teleported in front of Merag who responded with a force push, Vesmir was too quick and teleported out of the way appearing in front of Mizael who blocked a saber strike with his and pushed off. Vesmir struck again and in mid-strike teleported back to Merag as the strike slashed her face. Merag winced and thrust her saber out at him but he just teleported again. Mizael was ready this time and shot a barrage of lightning at Vesmir as he appeared. Vesmir gasped and screamed in pain ad the lightning entered his body sending him backwards. Merag spun from Mizael and sent a force blast at the reeling Vesmir who narrowly teleported out of the way. Merag spun back and as Vesmir reappeared in front she kicked him in his groin. Vesmir gasped in pain and bent over, Merag grabbed his neck and arm and did a spin flip sending him away as Mizael shot a lightning barrage into him again. Vesmir went down clutching his chest in pain and growling angrily.
"You can't defeat me.... I am more powerful then any of you" he shouted and thrust his hands out creating a shockwave that knocked the two down.
Vesmir teleported onto Merag with his feet holding her arms down and grabbed her neck with his claws causing her to bleed. "First I'll destroy the girl you love," Vesmir said sadistically. Merag screamed and struggled trying to free herself. Mizael got up quickly and did a barrel roll into Vesmir knocking him back. Mizael helped Merag up and they ran forward. Vesmir had gotten up and roared in anger as the battle was taking its toll on him. Mizael linked hands with Merag and the two's eyes glowed their respective colors and they spun in the air shooting a spiral energy lightning blast into Vesmir who flew towards the edge of the building. Merag charged forward and struck Vesmir with a force blast that sent him back. Vesmir got up and quickly did a spinning lightning strike at Mizael knocking him back as he let go of Merag who roared and eyes still glowing shot Vesmir with a force blast.
"Quite a temper on you Meragu," Vesmir taunted regaining himself and shot a dark energy blast at her.
"Shut up bitch," Merag said defiantly as she hammered him with another blast.
Vesmir fell back but regained himself. Merag rolled on the floor and punched him in the groin and grabbed his head kneeing it hard and then flipping him down. Vesmir gasped in pain and flipped up kicking Merag in the gut with his robotic leg. Merag reeled back but punched the ground and sent the roof tiles flying up and knocking Vesmir back.
"Better control that temper of yours or you might cause something unfortunate to happen" he smirked. Merag didn't let up and detached her saber and swung madly at him which he blocked with his own saber.
"Oh Merag you have no idea what lies within you," Vesmir chuckled as he blocked her blows but was knocked down by a swift spin-kick by her. Vesmir growled and spun sweeping her feet and then shooting her chest with a dark energy blast that caused her to fly backwards. He laughed and got up and approached her.
Vesmir shot another dark energy blast into Merag's chest that was already wounded and sent her backwards to the ground unconscious. Mizael growled in anger and swung his lightsaber at Vesmir as he blocked with his own. Mizael struck at Vesmir as he blocked and parried, then he spun his saber and delivered a massive kick to Mizael's gut with his robotic leg. Mizael fell backwards as Vesmir approached.
"Like this?" Vesmir said pointing to his leg. "A parting gift from you"
Mizael just looked shocked. "what?"
Vesmir shot his hands out and electrocuted Mizael with his dark energy bolts. "You don't remember all that happened to you heh"
Mizael screamed in pain a the energy entered him, Normally he could absorb lightning but this was not normal lightning. "Like how your entire race was massacred" Vesmir continued not letting up and smiling wickedly.
Nasch had finally gotten up as Durbe was tending to him trying to fix his suit when he noticed Merag lying on the floor nearby and Mizael being assaulted by Vesmir. Nasch went over to his sister and she woke up wincing in pain.
"Or how the girl who loved you was lost" Vesmir continued o taunt and amplify his attack on Mizael who just screamed in agony.
"And how the day your brother betrayed you" Vesmir finished off with a sadistic grin. Mizael's eyes widened at this while still being electrocuted. and moved onto his face cutting it deeply with lightning and dark energy.
Merag also gasped and clutched her head as some images flashed of a dark clad figure killing innocent lives, then to her and Mizael standing next to some escape ships, and finally to her going up while watching two guys fight each other on the ground then she came back to the present. fueled by rage and passion her eyes glowed a brighter blue then before and she sent a massive telekinetic blast at Vesmir who was caught off guard and was sent backwards onto the edge. Nasch also let loose a wall of fire that engulfed him, as Durbe threw more flash grenades at his face. Mizael lied there in pain but felt for his lightsaber lying near him and ignited it making a swift stroke and severed Vesmir's robotic leg off. Vesmir gasped as he began falling. "Sayonara Bitch," Mizael said weakly. Merag let loose another blast that knocked Vesmir off the edge down below into a smokestack as all they could hear was his screams and then nothing.
Merag powered down her eyes returning to normal and ran kneeling down placing Mizael's head on her lap as he just groaned in pain with half of his face badly burned and scarred. Merag leaned down placing her forehead to his and cried silently. Nasch limped to them as Durbe clutched his arm.
"it's Over" Merag said cradling Mizael.
Chapter 5 Aftermath Edit
The battle worn Barians returned in their ship to the LOS dreadnought. Goldvanius set Mizael up and healed him internally with his powers, but his face could not be healed.
"I could mend the wound to your face..." Goldvanius began, "however, battle wounds shape men into shining examples of war. You have earned this illusion of honor."
"What... but-" Mizael began to protest.
"Silence," Vanius stated. "I sense it within you... you want to keep the wound. And while you'd convince me otherwise for the greater convenience of your... well-being," Goldvanius' voice shifted to distaste when speaking of someone's personal preference, "I know there's a part of you that strives to represent a warrior."
"Master, the pain..." Mizael seemed baffled by Vanius' words, but the Dark Lord continued without hesitation.
"Despite the fact that watching you with a blade is similar to an evening's entertainment of monkey-lizard dancing," Vanius remarked, "you are destined to be a warrior... only with the Force, not a lightsaber. You want this wound to display that... I can feel it. You want this... don't you?"
"As always, you are correct, my master," Mizael replied.
"Good... perhaps in due time you will realize the pointlessness of pride and the thin line it anchors next to arrogance." Mizael could almost see the smirk behind his master's mask. "But for now... as your true feelings are obvious to me, I won't interfere with your appearance... romantic attraction disgusts me anyhow. However, I might suggest you keep it covered when I am nearby... it is quite distasteful. I might end up making it worse if you don't..." the Dark Lord's words grew quieter and deeper as he slowly walked away. Merag sat by Mizael's bedside as he wore a bandage across the left of his face. Nasch and Durbe were there watching their friend in pain. Merag then spoke up,
"Guys, what Vesmir said reawakened something in me..." The two looked at her. "I think he killed our race." The two just looked at each other as this information sunk in. It was apparent to both of them - Vesmir was there when thousands of Barian souls suddenly cried out in terror.
"Well, he is gone now, so there is no need to worry." Nasch said, placing a hand on Merag's shoulder. Goldvanius called for Nasch and Durby to report their mission. They didn't go into detail about Vesmir, as if something had influenced their minds...
Merag held Mizael's hand as he finally reawakened and sat up, looking at her and grinning slightly. "What happened?" he asked. Merag told him of what happened as Mizael clutched his face bandage. Merag helped as he limped out of the room to a balcony overlooking Kaas City.
"Thank you for everything." Mizael said, turning to Merag. Merag blushed and then turned to him,
"You're welcome, Mizael." The two leaned in and kissed as she wrapped her arms around his neck. A quack-like laugh was heard as they saw Goldvanius' apprentice, Evasic, was watching them from a corner.
Later Mizael kneeled before Goldvanius who presented him with a golden mask and a new robe and cape as his old were tattered from the battle with Vesmir. The three barians watched and clapped along with several other LOS members. Mizael turned and bowed to them now with his mask making him look intimidating.
Mizael walked in front of them as they followed thinking to himself "Had we really seen the last of Vesmir?"
