    Skyrim character blog

    September 11, 2016 by Parax.

This thing's been sitting in my documents for about two years now with the occasional update. Might as well publish the damn thing and edit accordingly.

So after giving it some thought, I've decided to finally create my own "who I imagine you as in ____" blog. It's Elder Scrolls/Skyrim-oriented—or more specifically, following my story—so most of you may not even understand wtf I'm talking about. As such, I'll try to go as in-depth with each character I pair you up with as possible. This blog, like the story itself, is far from complete, so if you're not up there, you probably will be eventually. Don't get upset if it's not someone you wanted; I'm basing this on character relationships and personality, and getting angry will probably just ge…

In our first episode, Par and I discuss the troubles and annoyances of the dreaded Wiki we used to call home. We'd planned it for a while, but what better time to do it other than the latest heated, hormonal attempt to demote G-man?

Future podcasts are being planned as well, and we've got loads of possible topics. If we decide to continue this, you can even expect guest appearances from people, like our one and only Billy Puckett.

    2016 Movie Reviews

    January 31, 2016 by Captaingoldvane2

Hopefully, I'll actually continue to write this.

After failing to do my yearly review of all the movies I saw for 2014 and 2015, I decided to try a different, but more usual approach with 2016. I'll try to review each film as I see it. I plan to do a lot with this, but it might not happen depending on school and other things.

    • The Finest Hours - 8/10
    • Hail, Caesar! - 6/10
    • Batman v Superman - 6/10
    • Captain America: Civil War - 9/10
    • X-men: Apocalypse - 7/10
    • Now You See Me 2 - 5/10

For each film, I'll be judging it by the quality of its plot, acting, visual effects, and original score. However, since I wanted to try something else and I wanted super easy math, I decided to include a fifth category: "the Dad rating." Since I see most movies with m…

    Top 11 2015 Films

    January 17, 2016 by Bill24601

Gonna Start this but finish it when I feel like it

No Surprise this is was my favorite of the year, I'm one of the few who doesn't despise the prequels, Yes I like the originals much better, I also did not have a problem with this seeming like A New Hope, because frankly Episode IV is down under Episode III I thought this one did it better, combining the old with the new and setting up for the new generation. Music by John Williams is great, especially Kylo Ren's theme. The characters are all great, returning Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Carrie Fisher as Leia Organa/Skywalker, and Mark Hamil as Luke Skywalker. The new characters are great too Daisey Ridley's premiere performance and she did a fantastic job as Rey, John Boyega as Finn was a…

Aight, so I ain't doing the whole thing where I review every movie I saw. I've already seen over twenty five films and there are still several I want to watch, so that just ain't happenin'. Nevertheless, I will stick to my usual top 10 for this year with what I have seen.

If I do get around to "officially" reviewing the films, their scores might not match up with the order I put them in here. This list is based purely on my personal experience and enjoyment whilst watching the listed movies. Critic mode off.

Before we get started, let me name some honorable mentions/close contenders:

    • Black Mass
    • Avengers: Age of Ultron
    • Spectre
    • Terminator: Genesis
    • Mr. Holmes

Also, here are some films that I've yet to see that I still want to watch. In other words, …

    Thoughts on KOTFE?

What do you all think of KOTFE?  I think it's a great expansion and is a lot of fun to play through, especially with the new heroics changes.

Since my 2014 movie review will probably never happen, and my 2015 reviews aren't appealing enough for my grand laziness to get to work and write, I decided I'll make a quick blog that I can actually FINISH. With so many unfinished stories and blogs, I want to at least write something short, and to the point. I may have posted something similar to this in a list form before, but I think my opinion will be much more accurate now that I've had nearly a year to re-watch most of these. Here are my top fifteen shows and movies from last year... why merge the two? Cause konk, that's why.

    Spoilers, of course.

Out of all of the films I saw in 2014, none have I rewatched as much as Grand Budapest. It's a perfect blend of comedy, drama, adventure, and…

(Work in progress-ah) Probably should have gone for this a couple of months ago, but alas, I wanted to add a few more to my list before posting this. I have nothing better to do tonight, so I've been downgraded to posting reviews :P

It's been forever since I posted a blog, so I'll make this clear - my opinions on a lot of stuff have probably changed and I'm definitely more selective than I was before. I've also developed standards, something that seems hard to come by these days unless you're a snobby rude critic. I can be "snobby and rude," yes... but I'll be worse than that if the movie deserves it.

Just to be clear, I'm judging films on the following:

    1. Plot - How compelling of a story was created and how well it was told. "Lack of plot" doe…

When I was growing up sure i watched live action but what I mostly watched were animation movies, mostly Disney's many animated features. Back then for me it was Disney, Pixar, and Dreamworks later on as they grew I got into more and more. This blog i will be reviewing the movies by their company and then the others at the end.

The format will be the same as my live action blog but with 2 different things - Voice Acting and Animation (later i will include visuals on the movies I know have visuals)

I do not know which animated movie I saw first so ill just go in order and there are some that I did not see.

    1. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - 1937 - The very first feature animation film by Disney, I actually saw this one when I was in middle …

I am not doing Animated movies, That can be for another time. Im only doing ones I've seen. Also won't go into detail about over seas films (Godzilla films namely)

2000 Leagues Under the Sea - 1954. This film defined my life. Love of the sea, sea creatures and sea exploration. The film itself based on a novel which is much different in events. The movie is an adventure film combining sci fi elements and making a masterpiece. The Nautilus design is one my all time favorite vehcicles and I wanted it for soo long, researched it tried to make models…

Its time, 2015 is tomorrow and now we look back on movies we love and hated

This list may change cause I didn't see some (Like Interstellar or Hobbit ya sausages)

    1. X-Men Days of Future Past - I don't hate the x-men films I like some better then others but don't despise like most, This one was by the director of the first two and featured the original cast and the new one from First Class, basically the best of both worlds. I grew up with the X-men films so the nostalgia was strong and enjoyable while also taking elements of Back to the Future and Terminator, two of my favorite time travel franchises. With great acting from an ensemble cast, great musical score and lots of action and heart it is easily best…

Alright, so it's been a while since I've made a blog. Couple of months since the last plot twist, and forever since my last character blog (was going to do Star Wars, but it became too overwhelming) - Anyhow, I'm finally off my lazy arse.

    • These are the characters I picture for everyone. Do not be butthurt if you didn't get someone you like.
    • More may be added, and some roles might possibly change. The show's gonna have a lot more, so more characters are bound to appear.
    • Don't be offended if I say something slightly mean about you. Most of these characters are villains, you know...

Odd choice? Not really. Like Lawrence, Gordon is just a really good guy. He's honest --most of the time--, to the point, and his morals are in the right place. …

K, so I was busy last week and couldn't get to one of these. So this week, I'll bring you a really cool one.

    1. We see that after Fisto is struck down, strangely his body is nowhere to be found.
    2. We've seen Fisto be very versatile and skilled before - it's likely he could've found a way to survive the attack and live on.
    3. Many argue that, as Jedi Masters, Fisto and his comrades shouldn't have been struck down so easily by Palpatine. Perhaps they weren't? Maybe one (Fisto) survived.
    4. It's unlikely that Fisto would fall so easily, given his skills.
    5. It's likely that after suffering a wound to the chest like he did, Fisto would just be fine. He probably went away somewhere to rest, and knowing that the Chancellor was evil he probably didn't stick around…

Okay, got a bit of a mind-bending one here, but I'm pressed for time, so it'll be short.

    1. It's pretty similar... the way someone enters the Matrix, and the way someone enters the dream world.
    2. Both create a virtual reality where anything is possible - anything that can be imagined.
    3. Think about it... their bodies sit there, motionless, but to them they're somewhere else.
    4. Things that affect someone in the Matrix/dream can sometimes affect them while they're "sleeping" in the real world.

I searched "Matrix Inception" after I came up with this and found this trailer:

I know I'm three days late on this, I just forgot to write this on Friday. Nonetheless, here it is

Now, I know the X-men have their own unique backstories and whatnot, but this would still make sense if it were true

    1. It's basically the same type of thing - a genetic "virus" is found in some humans that gives them power. It has to do with their specific blood, and unlike other heroes they don't absorb the sun, they don't make their powers, they aren't in a scientific accident... they're just born with it.
    2. Heroes revolved around a world that was just now learning about these people, only "The Company" knew about it for a while. The other organization found out about it, but that was it - (and it was practically destroyed) not really anyone knew…

This is long overdue, but I thought I might as well make my top 10 2013 movies list. 2013 wasn't the best year for movies, but it had a few gems. I might have made a few "best of 2013" lists before, but this is going to be my full review and I'm going to try and score things as accurately as possible.

    And here.... we.... go.

Now, before I list my best movies, I'm going to list some movies I DIDN'T like.

Yes, I actually watched part of this. It was on HBO and I had nothing better to do... or did I? I could've cleaned the toilet.... would've been better than this movie. Anyway, though, onto the review!

I never completed this movie, but from what I saw... no. Just no. They had potential for a great comedy but they blew it. Lame jokes alongside a …

Alright, for today I have another one that's obviously not true - but one that'd be a big mind-blower.

    Warning: Many Marvel spoilers below

    Hear me out.

    1. During the Avengers, Tony Stark claimed he'd know "every dirty secret SHIELD tried to hide." So why didn't he find out about Hydra? Why didn't he see any information on a massive secret organization within a secret organization that basically consisted of half its members? Maybe he did find it - but he chose to ignore it because he HIMSELF was involved with it?
    2. He's a big, wealthy weapons-maker. Who better to recruit for Hydra?
    3. Why didn't Hydra do anything when Nick Fury helped find a cure for Tony? Why didn't they stop him? Maybe because they wanted Tony alive because he was working WITH them.
    4. M…

So I've decided I'm going to come up with a crazy plot twist every weekend or so. I'll probably forget about this, but I'm going to give it a try!

These are just possible shifts or surprises in plots for popular books, movies, tv shows, etc -- others might have already come up with some of these, but I'm going to stick with what I've come up with in my sick mind and avoid copying others. If I have used someone else's idea, it wasn't intended.

Okay, this one is terrible. It's likely to make you cry. But what if Forrest Gump's mother was a psychopath? What if SHE killed Mr. Gump?

Okay, so we've had a lot of complaints recently about having inactive administrators. And while we don't have much need for administration, it's still not displaying a great message to have names that sit there and never edit.

I'm really neutral on this, but I'm proposing that we enact a policy that will allow us to demote an inactive rollback, chat moderator, administrator, or bureaucrat if they haven't contributed or entered chat in the last 6 months. I think 6 months is plenty of time to give them, if they're still interested in this Wiki then they will show up. And since we're not some giant, overly active Wiki that requires frequent cleanup and massive administrative tasks, I say we're in no rush to demote anybody. This would just be …

So henceforth with the approval of Par and Boog,  I'm adding that system back. If you have objections, send them to my message wall. If I get enough of them, I'll remove the system, but I think it will be fun for us all and it will encourage our users to edit.

Some really cool screenshots from our mountain-climbing expedition on Korriban. Great job guys, this was one of our best finds yet :D

also, Zar if you are reading this, sorry we didn't get to save you :( I was trying to get back up to Dent so that I could revive you, but it took me a while. We didn't abandon you, and we'll show you the rest of this if you want :P

Okay, so this is an entirely new idea that I came up with. Since Boog, Bill and I have been taking a lot of Zimbio and Buzzfeed quizzes, I decided to put together my own try at mimicking that style in a quiz that's never really been done before - a Film Score quiz.

In this quiz, there will be 11 questions with 5 possible answers each. Using a single blog comment, you will state each answer you picked for each question. After you have posted your comment, I will reply to your comment with your results, telling you which type of film score you appear to prefer and what film score that I deem overlooked ( or new) I think you would enjoy. The reason I'm adding new and overlooked scores is because I want to give you a score you haven't heard bef…

(and this time, it's spelled right!)

So, we haven't had anything like this for a while and naturally decided it's time for another questionnaire. This time we're edging away from Star Wars and focusing on real life preferences and etc. Don't worry, no personal questions or anything like that o_o

    1. What is your favorite food?
    2. Favorite social networking site?
    3. If you were an animal, what would you be? (no, an animal is not an answer.)
    4. What was the hardest school year for you?
    5. Favorite song?
    6. Least favorite musician?
    7. If you could master any instrument, what would it be?
    8. Favorite color?
    9. Do you like seafood?
    10. Favorite beverage?
    11. Ideal breakfast?
    12. If you were a lamp, would you waffle before drinking your earphones?

These are the DC villains that represent Wiki users the best.

As stated, this is only my opinion.. if you don't like who I chose for you, either take it like a man and suck it up or you can message me and I'll remove your name.

I always quote the Joker, so of course I am going to choose him for myself. He's sarcastic, smart, insane, obsessive, ruthless, and at the same time...  he's not a monster, he's really just ahead of the curve.

"You see, I'm a man of simple taste... I like things like... gasoline, explosions. And you know what they all have in common? They're all cheap!"

No fancy gadgets or supernatural powers here.. just good old-fashioned guns, bombs, fires, and of course knives.. lots and lots of knives.

Too many to list.. but I'll st…

So after some discussing (more like me asking "should we promote Par too?" and Dent saying "sure" ), we decided we should also promote Parax from chat moderator to administrator. Grats Par!

Gonna make this short... but Bill and Boog are getting admin. Earlier I needed someone else to help me delete the vandalism so I promoted Bill, and I talked to Dent and we're like "why not let him keep it?" - I also decided I'd promote Boog too cause he's been an active mod and he, like Bill, should have the ability to revert vandalism and ban trouble-makers. So there you have it - grats Boog and Bill :D
